The prestigious Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals is taking place on Monday at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Funny Car was the second group to start eliminations.

Tim Wilkerson defeated Del Worsham in the first pair of eliminations. Wilkerson also clinched a spot in the Countdown to the Championship with the win.

Matt Hagan defeated Jonnie Lindberg. No. 1 qualifier J.R. Todd defeated Jim Campbell.

Bob Bode had an upset win over Bob Tasca III. The New Hampshire racer was the No. 2 qualifier and was looking to make the Countdown to the Championship.

However, as Bode and Tasca III was going down the track, Tasca III blew up. That eliminated any chance he had of making the Countdown to the Championship.

Tommy Johnson Jr. defeated Ron Capps. The NAPA Auto Parts Pilot has the most career win (60) without an Indianapolis win.

Courtney Force defeated Jack Beckman. Shawn Langdon defeated Cruz Pedregon.

For an unknown reason, when the Christmas tree came on and went down to green, Pedregon did not go. He reportedly told crew chief Tommy DeLago that he did not know what happened.

Robert Hight defeated 16-time champion John Force.
