The prestigious Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals is taking place on Monday at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Top Fuel was the first to start off eliminations.
Blake Alexander defeated T.J. Zizzo in the first race. 10-time Indianapolis winner Tony Schumacher was knocked out by Billy Torrence.
The older Torrence has now won five straight rounds. He won his first career race at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Clay Millican defeated Richie Crampton. Then, Mike Salinas defeated Australian Wayne Newby.
Crampton was eliminated from the Countdown from the Championship.
Antron Brown defeated Brittany Force. Terry McMillen received a solo, as Scott Palmer did not make a pass.
Palmer said that there was problems with his car, which is why he did not make a pass.
Doug Kalitta defeated Leah Pritchett, who had problems. Steve Torrence, last year’s winner of the event, defeated Pat Dakin.
