He is one of the Falcons best defensive players. Neal left the game twice on Thursday night. He did not return after leaving the field in the third quarter.

“That one hurts for us,” Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn said on Friday. “He certainly exemplifies not only our style as a ball player, but as a teammate, too. We’re bummed for him, and that’s certainly tough for us today.”

Neal went to the Pro Bowl for he first-time last season. He was replaced in the game by Damontae Kazee.

Kazee came up with a big play on Eagles Rookie tight end Dallas Goedert. His hit caused the ball to pop into the air and be intercepted by linebacker Deion Jones.

They interception helped the Falcons take a 12-10 lead in the fourth quarter.

“We love Kazee’s style, and we actually had [Ricardo Allen] down playing some strong [safety] as well,” Quinn said. “Kazee has really improved. I think you guys have see that through the offseason. He’ll be ready for an extended, for sure.”
