Reiff won again at the Mopar Mega Block Party

Reading, Pa. — Before the Dodge NHRA Nationals take place this weekend in Mohnton, Pa. at Maple Grove Raceway, Mopar drivers and others took part in the third annual Mopar Mega Block Party on Thursday night. The event took place at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa., and it’s surrounding areas.

The event was free to the public.

The Mopar Mega Block Party began at 4 pm and ran through 10 pm. Included in the festivities was a home run derby.

Mopar drivers partook in the derby. However, for the second straight year, NHRA announcer Dave Reiff won the home win derby.

The drivers also signed autographs for the fans after the home run derby. Several Mopar nitro cars were on display.

Besides the home run derby, there was a Monster Truck car crush. In addition, there was also a car show. There was games to be played — and it all ended with fireworks.

The fireworks display was the largest in stadium history.

The Dodge NHRA Nationals will have their gates open at 8 am. There will be an NHRA Guided Walking Tour at 11:15 am.

Pro qualifying will begin at 1:15 pm for the first round of qualifying with Pro Stock Motorcycle, followed by Pro Stock Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel. The second round will commence at 4:15 pm with Pro Stock Motorcycle once again, followed by Pro Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel.

The Jet Cars will end Friday’s show. Sarah Edwards, the pilot of the Hanna Motorsports Jet Dragster, will be one of the cars going down the track.
