Jameis Winston was believed to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise quarterback. That was the sentiment after he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

However, Winston has lost his starting position. The team has announced that they will go with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the team’s starter.

Winston has been suspended the first three games of the season due to an incident with an Arizona Uber driver. He allegedly groped the individual.

The NFL then suspended him earlier this season after completing their investigation. During that time, Fitzpatrick guided the Bucs to two wins.

He’ll guide the team in its third contest on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game will be be on ESPN at 8 pm.

Fitzpatrick went 48 of 61 for 819 passing yards. He has eight touchdowns and one interception.

He also has 13 carries for 35 yards and another touchdown.

Fitzpatrick has been known as “FitzMagic” for his success through the first two games. The Bucs hope that Fitzpatrick will continue his stellar play throughout the rest of the season.

Winston went 3-10 as an NFL starter last season. He is 18-27 in his career as a starter.

He went 282 of 442 for 3,504 passing yards. Winston also had 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Barring an injury, Fitzpatrick will attempt to guide the Bucs to the playoffs. It’s still early in the season, but FitzMagic has never quarterbacked a team to the playoffs in his career.
