Sox’s Bogaerts leaves in 7th with an injury

The Boston Red Sox removed shortstop Xander Bogaerts from Sunday night’s game. He left the contest against the Cleveland Indians on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball with an apparent left shoulder injury.

He appeared was injured in a seventh inning at-bat. Following being injured, he was replaced in the lineup by Tzu-Wei Lin.

He is considered to be Day-to-day with his injury. The team has described his injury as left shoulder soreness.

With the Red Sox already clinched the American League East, Bogaerts may get some time to rest. This is the final week of the season before the playoffs start in October.

The 25-year-old went 1-for-2 in the game. He also had two walks and a strikeout before leaving.

This season, he has a .284 batting average in 131 games. Bogaerts also has 21 home runs and 95 RBIs.
