If the speculation involving Philadelphia Flyers center Jori Lehterä is true, then he’s in some serious trouble. He is allegedly a suspect in a cocaine ring in Finland.

According to MTV, Finnish’s news service, he has denied any involvement in the ring. Lehterä was one of 23 suspects named in the investigation, according to the report.

In addition, several of the suspects arrested were even arrested at Lehterä’s summer home. The authorities allege that the investigation after two kilograms of cocaine were circulated, beginning in January.

Plus, there were roughly three-quarters of a million dollars in jewelry and other valuables seized in the investigation.

“We have spoken with Jori Lehterä and the league office regarding the reports out of Finland,” Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said, “and will reserve any further comment on the matter at this time.”

Lehterä was traded to the Flyers in a 2017 NHL Draft day trade with the St. Louis Blues. In exchange, Brayden Scheen went to the Midwest. The package also included draft picks that the Flyers used to draft center Morgan Frost and left winger Joel Farabee.

In his first season with the Flyers, Lehterä had just three goals and five assists in 62 games.

At this time, there is chance he does not make the Flyers team following these serious allegations. He is due to make $4.7 million in the final year of his contract.
