Preview: UFC 229’s Luque vs. Turner

In the third preliminary bout, Vicente Luque faces Jalin Turner in a lightweight bout at UFC 229. The fight will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

The 26-year-old Luque comes into the fight with a 13-6-1 record. He has won six bouts by knockout and another six fights by submission. He also has one decision win.

Four of his losses have come by decision. He also lost two more bouts by submission.

The Brasilia, Federal District, Brazil native has won his last two fights. He last defeated Chad Laprise at UFC Fight Night 129 on May 19th, 2018 via a first-round knockout.

He also defeated Niko Price at UFC Fight Night 119 on October 28th, 2017. He won that fight in the second-round via a submission (Brabo Choke).

Luque has not lost a fight since March 18th, 2017 when he was defeated by Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 107. He lost that fight via unanimous decision.

The 23-year-old Turner has a 7-3 record. The San Bernardino, California native has six wins by knockout. He also has a win by submission.

Two of his losses were by knockout. He also lost a fight by decision.

Turner has won his last three fights. He last defeated Max Mustaki at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on Season 2, Episode 4 on July 10th, 2018. He defeated Mustaki via a TKO (Doctor’s Stoppage).

He also defeated Noah Tillis at Bellator 192 on January 20th, 2018. He won via a first-round knockout.

The California native also defeated Vytautas Sadauskas at KOTC – Never Quit on September 2nd, 2017. He won that fight via first-round submission (triangle choke).

He has not been defeated since losing to Richard LeRoy at CXF 8 – Cali Kings on June 17th, 2017. He lost via a third-round knockout (punches).
