According to Florida Football Insiders, the Jacksonville Jaguars may sit running back Leonard Fournette. The team signed Jamaal Charles this week.
Fournette then re-injured his hamstring against the New York Jets two weeks ago. He carried the ball 10 times for 30 yards before leaving in the second half.
After injuring his hamstring against the Giants, he was also in the lineup against the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans.
He was ruled out very early the past several weeks, so the belief is that he did not have enough time to heal. He has not practiced with his teammates since re-injuring his hamstring injury in Week 4.
The Jaguars are playing the Dallas Cowboys this week at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Then, they host the Houston Texans next week.
The following week in Week 8, the Jaguars play the Eagles in London, England. In Week 9, the Jaguars are on a bye.
The 23-year-old second-year back has 20 carries for 71 yards this season. He also has four receptions for 19 yards.
The 31-year-old Charles, who will split time with T.J. Yeldon for the time being, last played with the Denver Broncos during the 2017 season. He had 69 carries for 296 yards and a touchdown in 14 games.
It is unknown at this time if Charles will be able to play against the Cowboys, as he learned the team’s offensive scheme.
