Capco Contracts Top Fuel pilot Steve Torrence has won three straight races. He is presently the provisional No. 1 qualifier on Friday night at the NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by WIX Filters at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina.
The Kilgore, Texas native picked up the provisional No. 1 spot during the second session, as he went 3.704 at 331.53 mph. Torrence also has one No. 1 qualifier during this three-race win streak.
“It was really smooth early, all the way down there,” said Torrence. “I enjoy coming here, racing and I enjoyed coming back. We have done really well in the four-wide format. We are going to try to carry the momentum we have right now into race day.”
Great Clips/Parts Plus Top Fuel Dragster pilot Clay Millican is the provisional No. 2 qualifier. The Drummonds, Tennessee native went 3.718 at 321.73 mph.
Reigning Top Fuel champion Brittany Force is the provisional No. 3 qualifier. The Yorba Linda, California native, who is the driver of the Advance Auto Parts/Monster Energy Top Fuel Dragster, went 3.724 at 328.14 mph.
Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster pilot Doug Kalitta is the provisional No. 4 qualifier. The Ann Arbor, Michigan native went 3.729 at 327.19 mph.
U.S. Army Top Fuel Dragster pilot Tony Schumacher is the provisional No. 5 qualifier. The Austin, Texas native went 3.747 at 330.39 mph.
