Mike Murillo won the No Prep Kings Championship on Saturday night. He was crowned the winner at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.
He had to defeat The Vixen in the final round of the final event of the Season 2 taping to get the job done. He won the final round and won the championship by 10 points.
Murillo defeated Ryan Martin, who drives the “Fireball Camaro” for the Championship. He joins James “Birdman” Finney, as the champions, who won Season 1.
The Texas native began the final event in third place. The two competitors in front of him were knocked out early to slow him to win.
With winning the event at the Texas Motorplex, he won $40,000. In addition for winning the championship, he won $50,000. Not bad for a $90,000 day.
He also won a new stacker trailer, a custom golf cart, wheels, and brakes.
There were nine events that began in May at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kansas that went across the county before ending in Texas. Many of the events — if not all of the races — were full with fans in the standings.
All of these drivers that take part in this TV show do it for the fans. They also are not making a penny off of the show unless they win the event.
Murillo is now a 15-time Champion. He last won his 14th championship in 2012 at the NMRA and NMCA.
