The Washington Redskins have acquired safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix on Tuesday. The Green Bay Packers are receiving a 2019 fourth-round draft pick.
Clinton-Dix knew in recent days that he might be moved. The Packers received something for the player, who was not expected to be re-signed by the off-season.
This is the third safety that the Packers had and then allowed them to go. The other two left via free agency.
The 25-year-old Orlando, Floria native joins the NFC East-leading team. Clinton-Dix played free safety with the Packers.
On the Redskins Depth Chart, D.J. Swearinger Sr. is listed as the starting free safety. Also, Montae Nicholson is listed as the strong safety.
The 2014 first-round draft pick started all seven games wish the Packers this season. He had 27 tackles, 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble, three interceptions, and three pass deflections.
With the Packers, he has made 71 appearances, including 65 starts. One has to go all the way back to his rookie season when he did not start a game, as he started 10 of those 16 games in 2014.
He had 390 tackles, including eight tackles for a loss and eight quarterback hits. He also had 5.5 sacks, 14 interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 25 pass deflections.
