Klay Thompson sets 3-point record in Warriors win

The Golden State Warriors scored a season-high 149 points on Monday night. The Warriors were able to defeat the Chicago Bulls, 149-124, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The Warriors improved to 7-1 on the season. They are now 4-1 on the road away from Oracle Arena.

Golden State is on a five-game win streak.

The Bulls fell to 2-5 on the season. They are now 1-2 at home this season.

The loss to the Warriors snapped Chicago’s one-game win streak, as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 97-85 in their previous game.

Klay Thompson also set an NBA record with 14 3-pointers in the game. According to Second Spectrum, he had 52 points on 52 touches.

He also only dribbled the ball 56 times and had the ball in his hands for only 96 seconds.

Thompson broke Steph Curry’s 2016 record when he made 13 3-pointers.

The Warriors are the 50th team in NBA history to have three different 40-point performances in a season, according to ESPN’s Stats & Info. They did it quicker than any team in just eight games.

Curry had 51 points for the team on Wednesday, October 24th. Kevin Durant then scored 41 points on Friday, October 26th.

Thompson led the Warriors with 52 points in just 27 minutes and shot 18 of 29 from the field. He also had five rebounds and one steal.

He was one of six Golden State players, who scored in double-figures. Curry had 23 points, while Alfonzo McKinnie had 19 points, and Quinn Cook also scored 16 points.

Durant added 14 points and Jonas Jerebko added 10 points.

The reigning NBA champions had 55 bench points. McKinnie — who is in his first season with the Warriors — led the bench with the aforementioned 19 points. He also had 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block.

Zach LaVine and Antonio Blakeney led the Bulls with 21 points each. LaVine went 8 of 17 from the field in 27 minutes. He also had six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Blakeney went 7 of 12 from the field in 21 points. He also had two rebounds and one assist.

LaVine and Blakeney were two of six Chicago players, who scored in double-figures. First-round draft pick Wendell Carter Jr. scored 18 points, while Jabari Parker and Cameron Payne had 15 points each.

Shaquille Harrison also contributed 13 points.

The Bulls had 58 bench points. Blakeney led with the aforementioned 21 points.
