The Boston Red Sox will have both aces in place for their 2019 World Series run. The team picked up Chris Sale’s option for next season.

David Price — who had control over his option — said to reporters on Wednesday that he will remain with the team. He will now remain with four-years left on his seven-year deal.

Price told reporters before the team’s World Series parade. It began at 11 am EST.

He is owed $127 million over the next four-years. It will be staying with the team for the long-term now.

The 33-year-old Murfreesboro, Tennessee native signed with the team on December 4th, 2015. He went 2-0 in three games in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games with a 1.98 ERA in 13 2/3 innings.

He also won one game in the ALCS championship against the Houston Astros in two starts. He had a 3.38 ERA in 10 2/3 innings. Price also went 0-1 in one start in the ALDS against the New York Yankees with a 16.20 ERA in 1 2/3 innings.

Price picked up his first career postseason win in this postseason. That was against the Astros and that gave him confidence to pitch better in his remaining starts.

He said after the World Series in an interview following the win that he did not want to go anywhere.

With the team, he has gone 39-19 with a 3.74 ERA in 81 games, including 76 starts. He also had one game finished and three complete games. Price has allowed 211 runs (200 earned runs) with 63 home runs, while striking out 481 and walking 124.
