Throwback: Rose scores 42-points in Bulls win over Spurs

Editor’s Note: On Wednesday night, Derrick Rose exploded for 50 points against the Utah Jazz on Halloween. It was a career-high for the former No. 1 overall pick.

We profiled his previous career-high against the Indiana Pacers when he had 42 points. He also had 42 points against the San Antonio Spurs in this game that we’ll look back on now.

The Chicago Bulls defeated the Spurs on February 17th, 2011. The Bulls 109-99 over the Spurs at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The Bulls improved to 38-16 on the season. The Spurs fell to 46-10.

Derrick Rose had a game-high 42 points. He also had five rebounds, eight assists, and one block.

This was Rose’s first 40-or-more-point performance in his career.

Rose was one of three Chicago players, who scored in double-figures. Luol Deng also had 19 points and Carlos Boozer contributed 15 points.

The team had 25 bench points. Ronnie Brewer led the bench with nine points. He also had three rebounds and two assists.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 26 points. He also had one rebound, four assists, two steals, and one block.

Parker was one of five San Antonio players, who scored in double-figures. Gary Neal and Manu Ginobili added 16 points each. Tim Duncan contributed 14 points.

Richard Jefferson also had 12 points.

Neal led the bench with his 16 points. He also had two assists.
