According to Fox 4 Sports, the Kansas Jayhawks are expected to fire head coach David Beaty. The TV station said it could happen within the next 24 hours.

These reports surfaced after the team lost 27-3 to the Iowa State Cyclones. The loss dropped their season record to 3-6.

Beaty has guided the team to a 1-5 record within the Big 12 Conference.

When Beaty does get forex by the Jayhawks, he will be the third head coach, who was fired this season. First, the Bowling Green Falcons fired Mike Jinks on October 14th.

The team named Carl Pelini as the interim head coach.

The Maryland Terrapins fired head coach D.J. Durkin one day after the Board of Regents recommended that he keep his job. However, due to social media posts and backlash from around the state, school president Wallace Loh decided to fire Durkin.

When the Terps were investigating the death of Jordan McNair, Matt Canada was named interim head coach. He will stay interim head coach for the rest of the season.

Beaty is 6-38 in 44 games, as the Jayhawks head coach. This season, he had his most wins in a season with the team, as he had 3.

He had just three wins in 2016 and 2017. The Jayhawks went 0-12 in 2015.

This was the 48-year-old’s first head coaching job. He had an extension with the school through the 2021 season so Kansas will be responsible for the rest of that contract.
