Tate accounts for 5 TDs in Wildcats win over Buffaloes

The Arizona Wildcats defeated the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday night. The Wildcats won 42-34 over the Buffaloes at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona.

The Wildcats improved to 5-5 on the season. They are now 4-3 in conference play.

Arizona has now won two straight games, including a win over then-No. 19 Oregon Ducks.

The Buffaloes fell to 5-4 on the season. They are now 2-4 within the conference.

Colorado has now lost four straight games after beginning the season with five wins.

Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate went 17 of 22 for 350 yards. He also had five touchdowns and one interception.

J.J. Taylor had 40 carries for 192 yards.

Cedric Peterson had two receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. Devaughn Cooper had three receptions for 63 yards. Shun Brown had five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown. Tony Ellison had two receptions for 49 yards.

Shawn Poindexter had two receptions for 40 yards and two touchdowns. Stanley Berryhill III had a 40-yard touchdown reception.

Buffaloes quarterback Steven Montez went 27 of 42 for 343 yards. He also had three touchdowns and one interception.

Travon McMillian had 11 carries for 59 yards. K.D. Nixon had two carries for six yards and a touchdown.

Juwann Winfree had eight receptions for 101 yards. Kabion Ento had five receptions for 82 yards. McMillian had two receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown. Tony Brown had three receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Jaylon Jackson had six receptions for 25 yards. Kyle Evans had two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Arizona scored 16 points in the second-half. Tate hit Poindexter for a 39-yard touchdown reception. Following the score, the two-point conversion failed.

Tate also hit Peterson for a 57-yard touchdown reception. Josh Pollack also made a 41-yard field goal.

Colorado scored 10-points in the second-half. Montez hit Brown for a 20-yard touchdown reception. Tyler Francis also made a 48-yard field goal.

The Wildcats led 26-24 at halftime. Tate hit Berryhill for a 40-yard touchdown reception. Tate also hit Poindexter for a one-yard touchdown reception.

Tate hit Brown for a 12-yard touchdown reception. Lucas Havrisik also made two field goals.

Buffaloes’ Nixon scored on an eight-yard rushing touchdown. Montez hit Evans for a 17-yard touchdown reception.

Montez also hit McMillan for a 57-yard touchdown reception. Francis also made a 25-yard field goal.
