Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez has won the Ohio 16th congressional district. Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Colin Allred also won his race in the 32nd congressional district in Texas.
The Republican defeated Susan Moran Palmer, according to the Associated Press with 98% reporting. Gonzalez won with 56.8% of the vote (162,323 votes) over Palmer, who had 43.2% of the vote (123,616 votes).
He takes over the role from Jim Renacci. His seat was available after Renacci decided to run for the U.S. Senate.

Gonzalez supposed President Donald Trump, who is also a Republican. The former NFL player even spoke at Trump’s “Make America Great Again” rally on Monday in Cleveland, Ohio.
The 34-year-old Cleveland, Ohio native played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also the 32nd overall pick in the first-round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Colts.
In 40 games with the Colts, he made 12 starts from 2007 through 2011. He had 99 receptions for 1,307 yards and seven touchdowns.
Allred, a Democrat, won despite 74% reporting, according to the Associated Press. He defeated Pete Sessions, a Republican, in their race with Melina Baker as a Libertarian party candidate.
He won with 52.2% of the vote (132,322 votes) while Sessions received 45.9% of the vote (116,215).

Allred defeated Lillian Salerno, a Lewisville businesswoman, to win an election runoff on May 22nd to be able to run against Sessions.
He previously played for the Titans from 2006 through 2010. Allred — who played collegiate football with the Baylor Bears — had 46 tackles with the Titans in 32 games.
