Avon, Indiana native — who was born in California — received eight bonus points on the day.

“The biggest thing is win lights, of course, but when you have this kind of weather, you can just feel the energy; you get to execute what you set out to do,” said Pritchett of racing to the provisional No. 1 spot at her hometown track.

“We knew it was out there. When we ran that 77 (3.774) in Q1, we knew that there was so much more in it, so we built off of that. That 3.64 is a testament to some new chassis work we were able to do back at the DSR shop. We were able to put that power to the ground, and we did it in leaps and bounds. These are the moments, besides eliminations, that you can’t wait for because that’s the epitome of all of the power and all of the work coming down to that ‘Olympic moment.’”

Great Clips/Parts Plus Top Fuel Dragster pilot Clay Millican was the provisional No. 2 qualifier. The Drummonds, Tennessee native went 3.702 at 327.19 mph.

Matco Tools Top Fuel Dragster pilot Antron Brown was the provisional No. 3 qualifier. The Pittsboro, Indiana went 3.704 at 329.50 mph.

Capco Contractors Top Fuel Dragster pilot Steve Torrence was the provisional No. 4 qualifier. The Kilgore, Texas native — who claimed the Top Fuel Championship in Las Vegas — went 3.704 at 327.35 mph.

Pronto Auto Parts Dragster Blake Alexander was the provisional No. 5 qualifier. The Charlotte, North Carolina native went 3.711 at 330.88 mph.

Here’s how the rest of the field panned out:

6. Billy Torrence, 3.711, 328.86 mph

7. Doug Kalitta, 3.740, 319.29 mph

8. Richie Crampton, 3.756, 319.52 mph
