TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Michael Collins was injured in the first half of Saturday’s game with the Baylor Bears. He left the contest with a right ankle injury.

He was dropping back for a pass when his foot got stuck in the ground as he was being tackled by Bears’ Sewo Olonilua. Medical personnel came on the field to tend to his injury.

Collins needed help from the trainers to get off the field. The team is down to Grayson Muehlstein to play quarterback.

The team has already lost Shawn Robinson and Justin Rogers to injuries. Robinson had season-ending surgery in October. Rogers is recovering from a torn ACL in August 2017 while a high school player at Parkway High School.

Collins has gone 4 of 6 for 14 yards before his injury. Muehlstein went 5 of 7 for 86 yards and a touchdown in the first half against the Bears.

In seven games this season, Collins has gone 75 of 134 for 1,045 yards. The former Penn Quakers player also has six touchdowns and two interceptions.

Collins, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, is questionable to return. He was making his fourth straight start.

This was Muehlstein’s first appearance since the second game of the season against the SMU Mustangs. It is also his eighth career game.

Prior to Saturday’s game, he had just one completion, which came in the season-opener against the Southern Jaguars.
