Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is doubtful for Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions. The game is slated to start at 12:30 pm.
With Trubisky listed as doubtful, Chase Daniel could receive the start. It would be his first start since the 2014 season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
As a starter, he is 1-1. Both of his starts have come with the Chiefs, as the loss came in 2013.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Trubisky woke up sore on Wednesday. He is also dealing with “less movement in his shoulder than expected.”
Trubisky may not even dress for the game. The Bears, according to Schefter, could activate quarterback Tyler Bray to back up Daniel on Thursday.
Schefter is also reporting that Trubisky is dealing with an AC sprain in his throwing shoulder. He is also reporting that the signal-caller did not suffer a labrum injury.
He was injured on a late hit by Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith near the conclusion of the fourth quarter in Sunday’s game. He was injured in the Bears 25-20 win over the Vikings.
The 24-year-old Mentor, Ohio native Trubisky has gone 210 of 321 for 2,469 yards. He has 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The 32-year-old Irving, Texas native has appeared in three games this season. However, he has not attempted a pass. He has five carries for -5 yards.
