The USC Trojans fans want head coach Clay Helton fired. And they are not waiting for the administration to fire the embattled head coach.

They decided to start a fundraiser in an effort to get Helton fired. It was created by user “Bri M.”

The title of the GoFundMe is “Time for Clay to Fly Away!”

In the post, it says, “This is not designed to publicly humiliate Clay Helton. The vast majority of USC fans like him as a person and wish it had worked out for him here and we will be rooting for him enthusiastically at his next destination.

However, this job is beyond his capabilities at this point in his career and we are not doing anyone any favors by retaining him, including Clay himself. This is about bringing the USC administration’s attention to that fact.”

At the time of our post, there has been $8,737 donated by 147 people. The goal of the fundraiser is $23,000.

The embattled coach may be coaching his final game with the team on Saturday. If the Trojans lose to No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, they would fall to 5-7 and miss out on a Bowl game.

He is 32-16 at the school. However, he went 21-6 during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Outside of those two seasons, his teams went 11-13.
