Bears defeat Lions on Thanksgiving

The Chicago Bears defeated the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. The Bears won 23-16 over the Lions at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

The Bears have now improved to 8-3 on the season. The Lions fell to 4-7.

This was the first-time since 1976 that a Thanksgiving Day game featured two first-year head coaches. The Bears hired Matt Nagy in the off-season.

The Lions also hired Matt Patricia in the off-season.

Bears backup quarterback Chase Daniel started his first game since the 2014 season. He is now 2-1 as a starter on the league with the loss coming in 2013.

Daniel replaced the injured Mitchell Trubisky. The young star is dealing with a shoulder injury.

The 32-year-old went 27 of 37 for 230 yards. He also had two touchdowns.

Tarik Cohen has three carries for 14 yards. Jordan Howard had seven carries for 13 yards.

Taylor Gabriel has seven receptions for 49 yards. Cohen has seven receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Miller has three receptions for 41 yards.

Trey Burton had four receptions for 28 yards. Taquan Mizzell has two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford went 28 of 38 for 236 yards. He also has two interceptions.

LeGarrette Blount has 19 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Kenny Golladay has five receptions for 90 yards. Theo Riddick had seven receptions for 48 yards. Bruce Ellington had six receptions for 28 yards.

Chicago scored 14-points in the second half. Cohen scores on a 14-yard rushing touchdown.

Eddie Jackson also intercepted Stafford for a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Detroit scored nine points in the second half. Blount had a four-yard rushing touchdown. The two-point conversion attempt failed after this score.

Matt Prater also made a 20-yard field goal.

The Bears led 9-7 at halftime. Daniel hit Mizzell for a nine-yard touchdown reception. Following the touchdown, the two-point conversion failed.

Cody Parkey also made a 40-yard field goal.
