The USC Trojans have not made a decision yet on embattled head coach Clay Helton. However, he could be fired in the coming days.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Trojans Athletic Administration have their eyes on Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to be their next head coach. It has been reported by CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora that the Ravens and Harbaugh are expected to part ways at the end of the season.

As an NFL head coach, he is 99-71 in 170 games over in 11 seasons as the Ravens head coach. Baltimore has not made the playoffs in the last four seasons.

During that four-year streak without a playoff appearance, the team has gone 27-31. Their last playoff appearance was during the 2014 season.

Harbaugh is 10-5 in the playoffs with the franchise. He also went a perfect 4-0 during the 2012 season when they won the Super Bowl, defeating his brother Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Trojans finished the 2018 season with a 5-7 mark. They lost the season-finale on Saturday night against No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Helton has gone 32-17 in 49 games with the team. However, if you eliminate the 21-6 mark in 2016 and 2017, he has gone just 11-11 in two full seasons and one game as an interim head coach in 2013.

The 56-year-old Harbaugh has no prior head coaching experience at the college football league. When the Trojans job opens up, a lot of high-profile names are going to be mentioned for the position.
