According to UFC President Dana White, Sage Northcutt is no longer with the company. He confirmed on the UFC Unfiltered podcast that Northcutt’s contract was up.

The company elected not to re-sign him. His last fight with the UFC was in July.

“We let Sage go,” White said. “Sage is young and Sage needs some work. So let him get some work in one of these other organizations and we’ll see where this kid ends up in a couple of years and maybe we’ll pick him back up again.”

The 22-year-old Katy, Texas native is 11-2 in his MMA career. He has won five fights by knockout and won three fights by submission. He also has three decision wins.

Both of his losses have come via submission.

He ended his UFC tenure on a three-fight win streak. He defeated Zak Ottow at UFC Fight Night 133 by a second-round knockout on July 14th, 2018.

Nortcutt also defeated Thibault Gouti by a unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 126 on February 18th, 2018. He also defeated Michel Quinones at UFC Fight Night 120, also by a unanimous decision, on November 11th, 2017.

The welterweight fighter has not lost since being defeated by Mickey Gall. He lost that fight via a submission at UFC on FOX 22 on December 17th, 2016.

His only other loss came to Bryan Barberena at UFC on FOX 18 on January 30th, 2016.

Northcutt’s name has come up in signing with ONE Championship. This Singapore-based company has signed Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson in recent weeks. Johnson was traded to the company for Ben Askren.
