Arkansas Razorbacks assistant head coach and running backs coach Jeff Traylor has withdrawn his name for consideration for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks head coaching job. The Lumberjacks will move onto other candidates now.
Traylor just completed his first season with the Razorbacks. Prior to this season, he worked with Chad Morris at the SMU Mustangs.
After Morris accepted the Razorbacks coaching job, he served as the Mustangs interim head coach.
He worked two seasons at the University of Texas in 2015 and 2016 before going to SMU.
Prior to accepting a job with the Longhorns, he was a high school coach at Gilmer High School. He went 175-26 in 15 seasons. There, he win three State Championship.
He was an assistant coach at Jacksonville High School in Texas from 1993 through 1999. He began his coaching career at Big Sandy High School in Texas.
He graduates high school from Gilmer in 1986. He was then a walk-on with the Lumberjacks.
