The No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners defeated the No. 14 Texas Longhorns on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners won 39-27 over the Longhorns at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Sooners won the Dr. Pepper Big 12 Championship. It is the fourth straight year they have won the Big 12 Conference Championship.
In addition, the win gave Oklahoma the potential opportunity to play in the College Football Playoff. They will learn their fate on Sunday if they made it or not.
The Sooners improved to 12-1 on the season. The Longhorns fell to 9-4.
Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray went 25 of 34 for 379 yards.he also had three touchdowns.
Trey Sermon had 18 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Murray had 10 carries for 39 yards. Kennedy Brooks had 10 carries for 28 yards.
CeeDee Lamb has six receptions for 167 yards and a touchdown. Marquise Brown has five receptions for 54 yards. Nick Basquine had two receptions for 44 yards. Grant Calcaterra had three receptions for 38 yards and two touchdowns. Lee Morris also has two receptions for 31 yards.
Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger went 23 of 36 for 349 yards. He also had two touchdowns and one interception.
Ehlinger also had 15 carries for 42 yards and two touchdowns. Tre Watson had 13 carries for 39 yards.
Collin Johnson had eight receptions for 177 yards and a touchdown. Devin Dovernay had three receptions for 56 yards. Lil’Jordan Humphrey had seven receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. Watson had a 23 yard reception. Keaontay Ingram had three receptions for 23 yards.
Oklahoma had 19 points in the second-half. Sermon scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown.
Tre Brown sacked Ehlinger for a seven-yard loss. The play also resulted in a safety.
Murray hit Calcaterra for an 18-yard touchdown. Austin Seibert also made a 31-yard field goal.
Texas had 13 points in the second-half. Ehlinger hit Johnson for a 27-yard touchdown reception.
Ehlinger also hit Humphrey for a five-yard touchdown reception.
The Sooners led 20-14 at halftime. Murray hit Lamb for a 28-yard touchdown reception. Murray also hit Calcaterra for a six-yard touchdown reception.
Siebert also made todo field goals.
Longhorns’ Ehlinger scored on a 16-yard rushing touchdown. He also scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown.
