Jackson joins Miles’ staff at Kansas

Chevis Jackson has reunited with former LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles. Jackson has been named as the Kansas Jayhawks Defensive Backs Coach.

Prior to accepting this role, he played for Miles while he was the head coach of the Tigers. Jackson graduated from LSU in 2008.


Miles began his tenure in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2005 and it lasted through the 2016 season.

He was a player on the Tigers team, who won the SEC Championship in 2007. The team also won the BCS National Championship.

Jackson was previously the Defensive Backs Coach with the Ball State Cardinals from 2016 through 2018. He also worked as a graduate assistant under Miles for the Tigers in 2015.

He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant with the South Alabama Jaguars in 2013 and 2014.

The 32-year-old Mobile, Alabama native played for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL in 2008 and 2009. He also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos in 2010.
