Philbin’s first game leading the Packers will come against the Atlanta Falcons on December 9th at Lambeau Field. The Packers have dropped their last three games.

Their last win came on November 11th when they defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-12 at Lambeau Field. In fact, all of their four wins under McCarthy came at Lambeau Field.

Philbin is in his first season with the Packers before this promotion. He was named the Packers’ offensive coordinator on January 10th, 2018.

When Philbin joined the Packers in January, it was his second stint with the team. He was their coach from 2003 through 2011.

He first joined the Packers in 2003 as their assistant offensive line coach. He then worked his way up to the offensive coordinator role from 2007 through 2011.

After being the Packers offensive coordinator, Philbin was named Miami Dolphins head coach from 2012 through 2015. He was 24-28 with the Dolphins.

In his first season in 2012, he guided the Dolphins to a 7-9 record. The team then had back-to-back 8-8 records. He was then fired during the 2015 season following a 1-3 record to begin the season.

Before returning to the Packers in 2018, he spent two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts as their assistant head coach/offensive line coach in 2016 and 2017.

Philbin began his coaching career in 1984. He worked in the college ranks from 1984 through 2002.
