JMU names Warren Belin as Interim Head Coach

Warren Belin has been named the James Madison Dukes Interim Head Coach. Former Head Coach Mike Houston left the school to become the East Carolina Pirates Head Coach.

This is the first-time he has served as an Interim Head Coach or Head Coach in his coaching career. However, he will only be the Interim Head Coach until a permanent Head Coach is named.

He has 27-years experience in the coaching profession. In the 27-years, he spent 25-years at the collegiate level.

He spent two seasons in the NFL.

Belin joined the team prior to the 2018 season. Before joining James Madison, he served as the Vanderbilt Commodores Outside Linebackers Coach in 2017.

He spent 203 through 2016 as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Linebackers Coach. He also was the team’s Director of Recruiting.

He also was the Carolina Panthers Linebackers Coach in 2011 and 2012. Before that, he spent the 2010 season as the Georgia Bulldogs Linebackers Coach.

From 2002 through 2009, he was the Vanderbilt Commodores Linebackers/Special Teams/Recruiting Coordinator. He was the SMU Mustangs Linebackers Coach from 1997 through 2001.

He was the William & Mary Tribe Linebackers Coach in 1995 and 1996. He also spent the 1993 and 1994 seasons as the Cornell Big Red Linebackers Coach.

Belin was the East Tennessee State Buccaneers Linebackers Coach in 1992. He began his coaching career as the Big Red Linebackers Coach. He also was the Big Red’s JV Head Coach & Defensive Coordinator.
