Packers fire Linebackers Coach Winston Moss

The Green Bay Packers have fired Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers Coach Winston Moss on Tuesday night. Moss was fired by new Interim Head Coach Joe Philbin.

“We thank Winston for his contributions to the Packers over the past 13 years,” said Philbin. “We hope for the best for Winston and his family moving forward.”


Philbin became the Packers Interim Head Coach on Sunday night. Mike McCarthy was fired following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Moss was the Packers Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers Coach from 2007 through 2018. He spent the 2006 season as the Linebackers Coach.

Before coming to Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was the New Orleans Saints Linebackers Coach from 2001 through 2005. He also spent the 2000 season as the Defensive Quality Control with the Saints.

He also was the Seattle Seahawks Defensive Quality Control in 1998.
