Tiger-Cats name Orlondo Steinauer as head coach

By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

Orlondo Steinauer has been named Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach. He replaces June Jones, who went 14-14 with the team.

Jones; however, will remain with the team instead of leaving to seek other opportunities elsewhere. He will spend the 2019 season as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

Steinauer spent the 2018 season, as Jones’ Assistant Head Coach. During the 2017 season, he was the Fresno State Bulldogs Defensive Coordinator.

The 45-year-old Seattle, Washington native was the Tiger-Cats Defensive Coordinator from 2013 through 2016. He also was the Toronto Argonauts Defensive Backs Coach in 2012.

He began his coaching career as the Argonauts Defensive Backs Coach in 2010 and 2011. He was then promoted to Defensive Coordinator on August 2011.
