North Park Vikings head coach Mike Conway resigns

According to FootballScoop, North Park Vikings head coach Mike Conway resigned. He has accepted the position of Defensive Coordinator with the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx.

Conway was the team’s head coach for the past six years before deciding to leave. He had a 14-46 record at the school.

This season, he guided the team to a 2-8 record, including a 1-8 record.

As a college football head coach, he is 45-60. He also previously served four seasons as the Olivet Nazarene Tigers head coach. He went 31-14 as their head coach.

In 2013 during his first season at the school, he guided the team to a win over Carthage College Red. That win snapped a 13-year, 89-game losing streak in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

Before accepting the North Park head coaching position, he was the California Vulcans (Pennsylvania) Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator.

In 2001, he was an assistant coach with the Arkansas State Red Wolves. He also was the Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Special Teams Coach in 2000 with the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.

From 1996 through 1999, he served as the Olivet Nazarene Tigers assistant coach. He spent the 1995 season as the Purdue Boilermakers Defensive Ends Coach.

He began his coaching career with Washington & Jefferson Presidents as their Defensive Coordinator from 1988 through 1994.
