According to NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport, who spoke with agent Scott Boras, Kyler Murray will not play pro football. Murray was a first-round draft pick by the Oakland Athletics in June’s MLB Draft.

The agreement was Murray would play this one last college football season before transitioning to baseball. Boras worked out his $4.66 million deal with the Athletics.

“Kyler has agreed and the A’s agreed to a baseball contract that gave him permission to play college football through the end of the collegiate season,” Boras said this week over the phone. “After that, he is under contract to play baseball. That is not a determination to make. It’s already done.”

This week, Murray said that he would like to play both pro baseball and pro football.

“I’d like to do both, if possible,” Murray said. “But I don’t know how possible that is.”

However, his agent insists Murray cannot play pro football because of his baseball contract.

“From a contractual perspective, it is set,” Boras said.

On Saturday night, he won the Heisman Trophy. He also helped the Oklahoma Sooners to become the first school to have back-to-back winners with two different players.

Ohio State won the Heisman in 1974 and 1975. However, that was by Archie Griffin, the only two-time winner of the award.
