McMillan, Tulane looks to win first Bowl game since 2002

The 2018 AutoNation Cure Bowl is the fourth edition. It features the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the Tulane Green Wave at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The two teams will face off on Saturday, December 15th, 2018. The game will kick off at 1:30 pm EST on CBS Sports Network.

According to Covers.com, the Green Wave has a 54% chance to win this game, according to their public poll. Their expert poll; however, gives the Ragin’ Cajuns a 58% chance to win this game.

Tulane won the last meeting between the two teams on September 24th, 2016. The Green Wave won 41-39.

Louisiana’s last win in the series was in the 2013 New Orleans Bowl.

In the past 10 meetings, dating back to 1990, each team has won five times.

Tulane leads the all-time series, 21-6. This is just the second meeting in a Bowl game.

The Ragin’ Cajuns bring a 7-6 record into the game. Louisiana is 2-5 on the road this season.

The team has a 2-1 Bowl record. Two previous Bowl wins were vacated due to NCAA sanctions.

This is the first time the team is playing in a Bowl game outside of the New Orleans Bowl. They were defeated in their last Bowl appearance, 28-21, against the Southern Miss. Golden Eagles, 28-21, in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 17th, 2016 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Their last Bowl win came against the Nevada Wolf Pack, 16-3, in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 20th, 2014.

The Green Wave has a 6-6 record. Tulane is 2-4 on the road this season.

This is Tulane’s first Bowl game since 2013. In that game, they lost 24-21 to the Ragin’ Cajuns in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 21st, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The team is 4-7 all-time in Bowl games. They have not won a Bowl game since 2002 when they defeated the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors, 36-28, in the ConAgra Foods Hawaii Bowl on December 25th, 2002 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawai’i.

The Green Wave comes into the game on a one-game win streak. They defeated the Navy Midshipmen, 29-28, on November 24th, 2018.

Their last loss came in a 48-17 loss to the Houston Cougars on November 15th.

Louisiana lost its last game as they were defeated in the inaugural Sun Belt Conference Championship game. The Ragin’ Cajuns were defeated 30-19 by the Appalachian State Mountaineers on December 1st.

Their last win came in a 31-28 win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on November 24th.

The Green Wave is scoring 25.7 points per game. Their defense is allowing 27.8 points per contest.

The Ragin’ Cajuns is scoring 32.5 points per game. Their defense is allowing 33.7 points per contest.

Tulane is averaging 394.3 total yards per game. They are allowing 419.2 yards per contest.

Louisiana is averaging 437.1 total yards per game. They are allowing 432.2 yards per contest.

Green Wave quarterback Justin McMillan has gone 68 of 136 for 1,159 yards. He also has nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

Darius Bradwell leads the backs with 166 carries for 984 yards and nine touchdowns. Darnell Mooney leads the receivers with 47 receptions for 987 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ragin’ Cajuns quarterback Andre Nunez has gone 174 of 270 for 2,136 yards. He also has 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Trey Ragas leads the backs with 197 carries for 1,141 yards and eight touchdowns. Ja’Marcus Bradley leads the receivers with 38 receptions for 557 yards and 10 touchdowns.
