Trojans send Bulls to 0-3 in Bowl games, win Dollar General Bowl

The Troy Trojans were one of several teams, who got to play their Bowl game at home. The Trojans defeated the Buffalo Bulls, 42-32, on Saturday night at the Dollar General Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

The Trojans improved to 10-3 on the season. They ended their season with a 6-1 home record.

Troy is now 5-3 all-time in Bowl games. The Trojans have now won their last four Bowl games.

In addition, Troy is now 2-0 in the Dollar General Bowl. They also defeated the Ohio Bobcats, 28-23, in the Dollar General Bowl on December 23rd, 2016.

The Bulls are now 0-3 in Bowl games. They lost 49-24 to the San Diego State Aztecs in their last Bowl appearance before Saturday in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on December 21st, 2013 at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

The team also lost 38-20 to the Connecticut Huskies in the International Bowl on January 3rd, 2009 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.

Trojans quarterback Sawyer Smith went 31 of 44 for 320 yards. He also has four touchdowns.

B.J. Smith had 20 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown. Sidney Davis had a 20-yard rushing touchdown.

Damion Willis had 13 receptions for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Tray Eafford had three receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Sidney Davis had four receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. Deondre Douglas had four receptions for 35 yards.

Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson went 20 of 35 for 274 yards. He also had one touchdown and one interception.

Jaret Patterson had 15 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. Kevin Marks had 10 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Antonio Nunn had four receptions for 87 yards. Anthony Johnson had five receptions for 67 yards. K.J. Osborn had four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown. Patterson had a 23-yard reception.

Troy had 21 points in the second half. Smith hit Willis for a two-yard touchdown reception. Smith also hit Davis for a 45-yard touchdown reception.

Davis also scored on a 20-yard rushing touchdown.

Buffalo had 15 points in the second half. Tyrone Hill scored on a 93-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Jackson hit Osborn for a three-yard touchdown reception. Following this touchdown, Jackson hit Nunn for a two-point conversion.

The Bulls led 17-14 at halftime. Patterson scored on an 11-yard rushing touchdown. Marks scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Adam Mitcheson also made a 41-yard field goal.

Trojans’ Smith hit Eafford for a 60-yard touchdown reception. Smith also hit Willis for a seven-yard touchdown reception.
