Former Notre Dame starter Wimbush plans to transfer

Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Brandon Wimbush was the starter to begin the season. He then lost his position to Ian Book.

Wimbush plans to leave the program. He plans to transfer after the season.

Book will lead the Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff on Saturday, December 29th. Notre Dame will face the Clemson Tigers.

The 22-year-old Teaneck, New Jersey native started three games this season before losing the starting position. He has gone 54 of 102 for 719 yards.

Wimbush also had four touchdowns and six interceptions.

His final appearance with the team came on November 10th against the Florida State Seminoles. He went 12 of 25 for 130 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

His best passing yardage game of the season came against the Ball State Cardinals on September 8th. He went 17 of 31 for 297 yards with three interceptions.

Wimbush started 12 games with the Irish in 2017. He went 136 of 275 for 1,870 yards. He also had 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.

His best game of the season last year happened on November 4th against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. He went 15 of 30 for 280 yards with one touchdown.

Book has gone 197 of 280 for 2,468 yards in nine games. He also had 19 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Book’s best game of the season came in the regular season finale, as he went 22 of 39 for 352 yards. He also had two touchdowns and one interception.
