Tigers dismantle Boilermakers in Music City Bowl

The Auburn Tigers destroyed the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday afternoon in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl. The Tigers won 63-14 over the Boilermakers at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Tigers improved to 8-5 on the season. They ended their season on a one-game win streak.

Auburn improved to 24-16-2 all-time in Bowl games. Their win snapped their two-game Bowl losing streak.

The Boilermakers fell to 6-7 on the season. They ended their season on a one-game losing streak.

Purdue fell to 10-9 in Bowl games all-time. They had their one-game Bowl win streak snapped with this loss.

The Tigers have won both of their appearances in the Music City Bowl. They defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, 28-14, on December 31st, 2003.

Tigers quarterback Jarrett Stidham went 15 of 21 for 373 in his final collegiate game. He also had five touchdowns.

Kam Martin had 11 carries for 58 yards. Malik Willis had three carries for 52 yards. Shaun Shivers had 11 carries for 33 yards. Joey Gatewood had three carries for 28 yards. Anthony Schwartz had four carries for 12 yards and a touchdown. JaTarvious Whitlow had seven carries for 10 yards and two touchdowns.

Darius Slayton had three receptions for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Whitlow had a 66-yard touchdown reception. Seth Williams had two receptions for 55 yards. Schwartz had three receptions for 50 yards.

Ryan Davis also had five receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown.

Boilermakers quarterback David Blough went 22 of 37 for 184 yards. He also had two interceptions.

Markell Jones had 10 carries for 35 yards. Blough also had seven carries for 19 yards and a touchdown. Rondale Moore also had three carries for 10 yards and a touchdown.

Moore had 11 receptions for 94 yards. Isaac Zico had three receptions for 31 yards. Jones had three receptions for 23 yards.

Auburn scored seven points in the second half. Stidham hit Davis for a five-yard touchdown reception.

Purdue scores seven points in the second half. Blough scored on a 22-yard rushing touchdown.

The Tigers led 56-7 at halftime. Auburn set a Bowl game record for the most-points ever at halftime of a Bowl game.

Stidham hit Whitlow for a 66-yard touchdown reception. Whitlow also scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown. Whitlow also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Stidham hit Slayton for a 74-yard touchdown reception. Stidham also hit Slayton for a 52-yard touchdown reception.

Big Kat Bryant had a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown. Schwartz also scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown.

Stidham also hit Slayton for a 34-yard touchdown reception.

Boilermakers’ Moore scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown.
