Wolf Pack defeats Red Wolves in overtime in Arizona Bowl

The Nevada Wolf Pack defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday afternoon. The Wolf Pack won 16-13 in overtime over the Red Wolves in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona.

The Wolf Pack improved to 8-5 on the season. They end their season with a one-game win streak.

Nevada improved to 6-10 all-time in Bowl games. They now have a two-game Bowl win streak.

Both of the wins have come in the Arizona Bowl. They also won 28-23 over the Colorado State Rams on December 29th, 2015 at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona.

The Red Wolves fell to 8-5 on the season. They had their four-game win streak snapped with this loss.

Arkansas State fell to 3-6 all-time in Bowl games. They have lost their last two Bowl games, as they also lost 35-30 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl on December 16th, 2017 at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama.

Wolf Pack quarterback Ty Gangi went 18 of 34 for 200 yards. He had one touchdown pass and two interceptions.

Toa Taua led the team with 22 carries for 56 yards. Ben Putman had four receptions for 114 yards.

Red Wolves quarterback Justice Hansen went 26 of 46 for 275 yards. He had three interceptions.

Warren Wand had 16 carries for 140 yards. Omar Bayless had seven receptions for 129 yards.

Nevada scored 13 points in the second half and overtime. Arkansas State had just 6 points during this time.

Devonte Lee scored a one-yard rushing touchdown. Then Gangi hit Reagan Robinson for an 11-yard touchdown reception in overtime for the win.

Blake Grupe made two field goals for the Red Wolves. In overtime, he made a 24-yard field goal.

In the fourth quarter, he also made a 32-yard field goal.

The Red Wolves led 7-3 at halftime. Red Wolves running back Marcel Murray scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Wolf Pack kicker Ramiz Ahmed made a 36 yard field goal.
