Crimson Tide defeat Sooners in College Football Semifinal in the Orange Bowl

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners in the Capital One Orange Bowl on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide won 45-34 over the Sooners in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

With the win, the Crimson Tide has advanced to the College Football Playoff National Championship game for the second straight year. They will face the Clemson Tigers for the third-time in the College Football Playoff National Championship game.

This is the trilogy showdown between these two teams. Each team previously won the National Championships in the battles.

The Crimson Tide improved to 14-0 on the season. The team is on a 16-game win streak after losing their last game on November 25th, 2017 against then-No. 6 Auburn Tigers in a 26-14 loss.

Alabama has improved to 41-25-3 all-time in Bowl games. They have won their last three Bowl games, including last year’s Sugar Bowl win and the College Football Playoff National Championship game.

The Sooners fell to 12-2 on the season. This loss snapped their seven-game win streak.

Oklahoma fell to 29-22-1 all-time in Bowl games. They have lost their last two Bowl games.

Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has gone 24 of 27 for 318 yards. He also had four touchdowns.

Josh Jacobs had 15 carries for 98 yards. Damien Harris had 13 carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns. Najee Harris had six carries for 45 yards.

DeVonta Smith had six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. Jerry Jeudy had four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.Jacobs had four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Henry Ruggs III also had three receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown.

Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray went 19 of 37 for 308 yards. He also had two touchdowns.

Murray had 17 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown. Kennedy Brooks had six carries for 35 yards. Trey Sermon had nine carries for 19 yards and a touchdown.

CeeDee Lamb had eight receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown. Charleston Lamb had three receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. Carson Meier had three receptions for 51 yards. Nick Basquine had a 35-yard reception.

Alabama scored 14 points in the second half. Tagovailoa hit Smith for a 10-yard touchdown reception. Tagovailoa also hit Jeudy for a 13-yard touchdown reception.

Oklahoma scored 24 points in the second half. Murray hit Rambo for a 49-yard touchdown reception. Murray also hit Lamb for a 10-yard touchdown reception.

Murray also scored on an eight-yard rushing touchdown. Austin Seibert also made a 26-yard field goal.

The Crimson Tide led 31-10 at halftime. Harris scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Tagovailoa hit Ruggs III for a 10-yard touchdown reception.

Harris also scored on another one-yard rushing touchdown. Tagovailoa also hit Jacobs for a 27-yard touchdown reception.

Joseph Bulovas also made a 38-yard field goal.

Sooners’ Sermon scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown. Seibert also made a 26-yard field goal.
