Spartans will attempt to win fourth game against the Ducks in the Redbox Bowl

The Michigan State Spartans face the Oregon Ducks on New Year’s Eve in the Redbox Bowl. The game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California and will kick off at 3 pm on FOX.

The Spartans came into this game with a 7-5 record. Three of their seven wins have come on the road (3-2 overall).

The Ducks are 8-4. They; however, are just 2-3 on the road this season.

According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis, the Ducks have a 67% chance to win this game, according to their public poll. Their expert poll; however, gives Oregon a 71% chance to win this game.

This is the seventh meeting all-time between these two teams. They last played during the 2015 season.

The Spartans won the last meeting in a 31-28 win over the Ducks on September 12th, 2015. They also won 27-20 over the Ducks on September 2nd, 1999.

Michigan State also won the first meeting, 41-17, on September 15th, 1979.

Oregon has not won in this series since a 46-27 win over Michigan State on September 6th, 2014. They also won 48-14 over the Spartans on September 5th, 1998.

The Ducks also won 35-7 in this series on September 20th, 1980.

Oregon is 12-17 all-time in Bowl games. They have lost their last three Bowl games.

In their last Bowl game loss, they were defeated 38-28 by the Boise State Broncos in the Las Vegas Bowl on December 17th, 2017 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada. Their last Bowl game win came in the Rose Bowl game in the College Football Playoff Semifinal in a 59-20 win over the Florida State Seminoles on January 1st, 2016 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The Spartans have a 12-15 all-time record in Bowl games. They have a one-game Bowl win streak.

Michigan State won 42-17 over the Washington State Cougars in their last Bowl win in the Holiday Bowl on December 28th, 2017 at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, California. They were defeated 38-0 in their last Bowl loss in the College Football Playoff Semifinal in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on December 31st, 2015 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

This is the first Bowl appearance in this Bowl for both teams.

The Spartans won their last regular season game with a 14-10 over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on November 24th. The team lost their last regular season came with a 9-6 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on November 17th.
