The Oregon Ducks defeated the Michigan State Spartans in the Redbox Bowl on New Year’s Eve. The Ducks won 7-6 over the Spartans at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Ducks ended their season with a 9-4 record. They ended the season with a three-game win streak.
Oregon improved to 13-17 in Bowl games. The Bowl win snapped their three-game Bowl losing streak.
The Spartans ended their season with a 7-6 record. They ended the 2018 season with a one-game losing streak.
Michigan State fell to 12-16 all-time in Bowl games. They had their one-game Bowl win streak snapped.
Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert — who recently announced he was returning for his senior season — went 19 of 33 for 166 yards. He also had a touchdown.
CJ Verdell had 14 carries for 43 yards. Travis Dye had six carries for 18 yards.
Dillon Mitchell had six receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jaylon Redd had seven receptions for 65 yards. Jacob Breeland had two receptions for 26 yards.
Spartans quarterback Brian Lewerke went 22 of 40 for 172 yards. He also had an interception.
LJ Scott had 24 carries for 84 yards. Lewerke had 16 carries for 63 yards.
Cody White had six receptions for 64 yards. Darrell Stewart Jr. had nine receptions for 45 yards. Matt Dotson had two receptions for 27 yards.
Oregon had seven points in the second half. Herbert hit Mitchell for a 28-yard field goal.
Michigan State had six points in the second half. Matt Coghlin made two 34-yard field goals.
There was no scored in the first half.
