Tigers will attempt to win its second Liberty Bowl against the Cowboys

The No. 23 Missouri Tigers face the Oklahoma State Cowboys on New Year’s Eve in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The game will be played at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee and will kick off at 3:45 pm on ESPN.

The Tigers bring an 8-4 record into this game. They won three of their eight games on the road (3-2 overall).

The Cowboys bring a .500 record into this Bowl game with a 6-6 mark. They; however, have just one road win (1-4 overall).

According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis, the Cowboys have a 68% chance to win this game, according to their public poll. Their expert poll; however, gives Oklahoma State an 83% chance to win this game.

This is the 53rd meeting all-time between these two teams. Missouri has won 29 games, while Oklahoma State has won 23 in the series.

This is just the second meeting all-time in Bowl games. The Tigers won 41-31 over the Cowboys in the Cotton Bowl on January 3rd, 2014.

The last-time the Cowboys won in this series came on October 22nd, 2011 in a 45-21 win.

The Cowboys have an 18-10 all-time record in Bowl games. They have won their last Bowl games.

They won 30-21 over the Virginia Tech Hokies in their last Bowl win in the Camping World Bowl on December 28th, 2017 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Their last Bowl loss came in a 48-20 loss to the Ole Miss Rebels in the 2016 Sugar Bowl in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This is the Cowboys first appearance in the Liberty Bowl. The Tigers have a 15-17 all-time record in Bowl games.

They have a one-game Bowl losing streak. They were defeated 33-16 by the Texas Longhorns in their last Bowl loss in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl on December 27th, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Their last Bowl win came in a 33-17 win in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on January 1st, 2015 at Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

The Tigers will be making their third appearance in this Bowl game. They have a 1-1 record in their previous two Liberty Bowl contests.

The Tigers have won their last four games. Their last regular season loss came to No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats, 15-14, on October 27th.

Missouri is averaging 36.9 points per game. Their offense is averaging 468.8 total yards per contest.

Their defense is allowing 24.4 points per contest. In addition, they are allowing 379 total yards per game.

Tigers quarterback Drew Luck has gone 252 of 399 for 3,125 yards. He also has 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Oklahoma State is averaging 38.4 points per game. Their offense is averaging 500 total yards per game.

Their defense is allowing 32.4 points per contest. In addition, their defense is allowing 437.1 total yards per contest.

Cowboys quarterback Taylor Cornelius has gone 262 of 441 for 3,642 yards. He also has 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Justice Hall leads the Cowboys backs with 158 carries for 930 yards and nine touchdowns. Tylan Wallace leads the Cowboys receivers with 79 receptions for 1,408 yards and 11 touchdowns.
