Aggies end 2018 with TaxSlayer Gator Bowl win, defeat Wolfpack

The No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies defeated the North Carolina State Wolfpack on New Year’s Eve. The Aggies won 52-13 over the Wolfpack in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Aggies improved to 9-4 on the season. They ended the 2018 season with four straight wins.

With the win, Texas A&M improved to 18-22 in Bowl games all-time. They had their three-game Bowl losing streak snapped with this win.

The Wolfpack fell to 9-4 on the season. They had their three-game win streak snapped with this loss.

North Carolina State fell to 17-14-1 all-time in Bowl games. They had their two-game Bowl win streak snapped.

Aggies quarterback Kellen Mond went 14 of 26 for 140 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception.

Trayveon Williams had 19 carries for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Mond had five carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. Jashaun Corbin had four carries for 41 yards and Cullen Gillaspia had three carries for 20 yards and a touchdown.

Kendrick Rogers had six receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Quartney Davis had two receptions for 39 yards. Jace Sternberger had a 28-yard reception. Jhamon Ausbon had four receptions for 25 yards.

Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley went 19 of 32 for 139 yards. He had one touchdown and two interceptions.

Reggie Gallaspy II had 14 carries for 79 yards. Ricky Person Jr. had 10 carries for 47 yards.

Emeka Emezie had six receptions for 36 yards. C.J. Riley had six receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown. Cary Angeline had two receptions for 33 yards.

Texas A&M scored 31 points in the second half. Tyrel Dodson scored on a 78-yard interception return for a touchdown. Williams scored on a 17-yard rushing touchdown.

Williams also scored on a 93-yard rushing touchdown. Cullen Gillaspia scored on a 13-yard rushing touchdown.

Seth Small made a 35-yard field goal.

The Aggies led 21-13 at halftime. Mond scored on a 62-yard rushing touchdown. Williams scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Mond hit Rogers for a six-yard rushing touchdown.

Wolfpack’s Finley hit Riley for a nine-yard touchdown reception. Christopher Dunn also made two field goals.
