According to ESPN, the Green Bay Packers have hired former Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur as their new head coach. He replaces Mike McCarthy and Joe Philbin, who were the Packers’ head coaches in 2018.
McCarthy was fired by the team in December. Philbin took over for the final weeks of the season.

The 39-year-old Mount Pleasant, Michigan native will be the head coach for the first time in his career. He gets one of the top two coveted positions in the 2018 NFL Head Coaching positions available with the Cleveland Browns.

LaFleur gets to coach Aaron Rodgers now. The reason that McCarthy was fired in December is because he clashed with Rodgers.
He spent the 2018 season with the Titans. With the Titans, he coached starting quarterback Marcus Mariota.
In 2017, he was the Los Angeles Rams Offensive Coordinator. As the Rams Offensive Coordinator, he worked with starting quarterback Jared Goff.
He was the Atlanta Falcons Quarterbacks Coach in 2015 and 2016.
During the 2014 season, he served as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Quarterbacks Coach. He was the Washington Redskins Quarterbacks Coach from 2010 through 2013.
He also served as the Houston Texans Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2008 and 2009. He was the Ashland Eagles Offensive Coordinator in 2007.

LaFleur was the Northern Michigan Wildcats Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach in 2006. He was the Central Michigan Chippewas Offensive Assistant in 2004 and 2005.
He began his coaching career as an Offensive Assistant with the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in 2003.
