According to USA Today High School Sports, 30-year-old Austin Pratt was charged with rape from an alleged incident that happened on New Year’s Eve. Pratt, who works in the Genesco Central School District, was charged with Saturday, according to the New York State Police, with a third-degree rape charge.

He was also charged with third-degree criminal sexual act. Both of the charges were felonies.

In addition, he was also hit with endangering the welfare of a child. That is a misdemeanor charge of the alleged incident that happened on New Year’s Eve.

Pratt is no longer employed by the school. He was employed by F.F. Thompson Health Systems Inc. In addition, he served as an athletic trainer for the school.

“The safety and security of our students is of utmost importance and all reports of any kind are treated seriously,” said Superintendent Tim Hayes said. “Support will be available for any students in need of assistance.”

The investigation is ongoing. The school is participating in the investigation. If there are concerns by parents, they can contact the school district, according to Hayes.

The report said that Pratt joined as an athletic trainer in 2015. He worked primarily in the Rehabilitation Services Center up until being terminated.

“At this point we have no reason to believe that Pratt was involved in other instances of improper behavior,” the statement read. “Our thoughts are with the victim and the victim’s family.”

An order of protection, according to the police, was issued for the minor. Pratt was sent to Livingston County Jail with a $10,000 cash bail, or $20,000 bond.
