The Baltimore Ravens have signed head coach John Harbaugh to a three-year contract extension. With his one-year left on his previous deal, his contract will now take him through the 2022 season.
The deal has been in the works for quite some time now. But it was just announced on Thursday night.
He has been the team’s head coach since the 2008 season when he replaced Brian Billick. He has been one of the most successful coaches in the league since that time, including guiding the team to the Super Bowl Championship in 2012.
Baltimore defeated his brother Jim, who was previously the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Before the 2018 season, the Ravens failed to reach the playoffs in three straight seasons. However, first-round draft pick Lamar Jackson guided the franchise to a Wild Card appearance before losing to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Since that Super Bowl win, the team only has one playoff win.
