The Indianapolis Colts and kicker Adam Vinatieri are close to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Once this contract is finalized, it’ll be his 24th NFL season.

The 46-year-old Yankton, South Dakota native has spent the last 13 seasons with the Colts. He spent his first 10 seasons with the New England Patriots.

Despite being up-in-age, he is not the oldest kicker in NFL history. George Blanda, who played quarterback and kicker, was 48 when he last played with the Oakland Raiders in 1975.

In recent history, over the last two decades, Morten Andersen was 47 when he retired. He last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2007.

In 2018, he was 23 of 27 in field goals. He was a perfect 8 of 8 between 20-29 yards. He went 6 of 7 between 30-39 yards. In addition, he also went 5 of 6 between 40 to 49 yards.

Plus, he went 4 of 6 from beyond 50 yards. He also made 44 of 47 extra points on the season.
