Dallas Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. has had his name come up in trade rumors. It seems like the Mavericks are very intrigued by dealing the 21-year-old.

The team would like to make Luka Dončić the face of the franchise. Smith Jr., who was the team’s lottery pick during the 2017 NBA Draft, has also seen his minutes and scoring diminish this season.

The Fayetteville, North Carolina native played for the team against the Toronto Raptors last night. He had 13 points with four rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in the deal.

This was just his third game back after missing six games. He also missed 12 previous games, including a 10 game stretch from Dec. 5 through Dec. 26.

His best game of the season came on Oct. 28. He had a season-best 27 points against the Utah Jazz in a loss.

He has only had three games, where he scored between 20-29 points. He; however, has had 21 games between 10-19 range.

Only eight of his games this season has been between 0-9 points.
