Patriots defeat Rams in Atlanta in low-scoring contest

The New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. The Patriots won 13-3 over the Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is the Patriots sixth Super Bowl win in the last 18-years. In addition, during this stretch, two of the six wins have come against the Rams.

New England head coach Bill Belichick is now the oldest coach ever to win the Super Bowl. In addition, quarterback Tom Brady is the first player ever to win six Super Bowls.

He surpassed Charles Haley, who previously was tied with Brady for two years with five Super Bowls.

This is also officially the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever. In addition, this was the first Super Bowl with no touchdown entering the fourth quarter.

Brady went 21 of 35 for 262 yards. He had one interception.

Sony Michel had 18 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown. Rex Burkhead had seven carries for 43 yards.

Julian Edelman — who was named Super Bowl LIII MVP — had 10 receptions for 141 yards. Rob Gronkowski had six receptions for 87 yards.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff went 19 of 38 for 229 yards. He also had an interception.

Todd Gurley II had 10 carries for 35 yards. C.J. Anderson had seven carries for 22 yards.

Brandin Cooks — who played for the Patriots in Super Bowl LII before being traded to the Rams in the off-season — had eight receptions for 120 yards. Robert Woods had five receptions for 70 yards. Josh Reynolds had three receptions for 28 yards.

New England scored 10 points in the second half, all in the fourth quarter. Michel scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown. Stephen Gostkowski also made a 41-yard field goal.

Los Angeles had three points in the second half. Greg Zuerlein made a 53-yard field goal.

The Patriots led 3-0 at halftime. Gostkowski made a 42-yard field goal.
